Description
Nava Foods Premium Oil Bean (Ugba) is made from carefully sliced, traditionally
fermented African oil bean seeds, dried and packaged under hygienic conditions. Ugba
is a rich, flavorful delicacy used in Eastern Nigerian cuisine, especially in Abacha, African
salads, and soups.
Preparation Suggestions:
For African Salad (Abacha/Ugba Mix):
1. Rinse Ugba in clean warm water to rehydrate.
2. Add to prepared Abacha (cassava flakes), with palm oil, pepper, onion, and seasoning.
3. Mix thoroughly and garnish with garden egg, crayfish, or proteins of choice.
For Soups or Stews:
1. Rinse and soak Ugba in warm water for 5–10 minutes.
2. Add during the final stages of cooking your soup or stew.
Do not overcook Ugba to retain its distinctive aroma and texture.
